When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal (corrupt); their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Genesis 1:31 ‘God saw all that he had made, and it was very good’. When we (humans) began to increase God said that he would not contend with us forever for we are mortal or corrupt, so he limited our days. He also saw how great our wickedness had become and regretted that he had made us and his heart was deeply troubled. At this point in time God wanted to wipe us out. But there was Noah.

What is the difference in our wickedness from then till now?  Nothing!  We are as evil now as man was then.  God saved us by saving Noah because He had favor for Noah.  Why?  Was it Noah’s faith?  Was it Noah’s obedience?  Was it Noah’s personal intimate relationship with God? Favor is gaining God’s approval, acceptance, and blessings.  It is also an act of God’s kindness above and beyond our expectations. Do you, your family, and our church find favor in the eyes of the LORD? Why or Why not?

Father, You are AWESOME!  Your love is AMAZING.  Forgive me for my wickedness and my evil ways!  Have mercy on me. Lord God, I ask for your favor.  Have favor for my family.  Have favor for our church.  Have favor for our city.  Have favor for our nation.  God be glorified.  AMEN
