On this second occasion, while they were drinking wine, the king again said to Esther, “Tell me what you want, Queen Esther. What is your request? I will give it to you, even if it is half the kingdom!”3 Queen Esther replied, “If I have found favor with the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my request, I ask that my life and the lives of my people will be spared.
ESTHER 7:2-3

A woman who was orphaned as a young child, raised by her cousin and went on to become the queen of her people's captors, was faced with a dilemma. She was living the best possible life for a woman in these times. Her people were in danger of being wiped out. She could remain safe and say or do nothing or she could risk her life to try and save them.
1. She was not relying on her emotions or strength. Without hesitation she went to God through prayer and fasting for the answer as for a plan of action.
2. She stepped out in faith knowing she could face certain death to save others.

We need to keep God in the forefront of our lives and look for answers in prayer and fasting. We then need to have the courage to step out and follow through with what God puts on our hearts. We are probably only a few short years away from persecution and our actions could be used to bring others to Christ.

Lord, help me to keep my focus on you in this life. To know all I have is a blessing from you and not to hesitate to act or react in ways you put upon my heart. Give me the courage, strength and wisdom of Esther to fulfill my purpose that You have put me here for. Help me to be aware of situations around me and to become a natural extension of Christ through my thoughts, words and deeds as I go through this life. In Jesus name, Amen
