Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation! EXODUS 32:10 KJV

(Read Exodus 32:1-10)

To this point, the Israelites had seen the invisible God do some amazing things through the process of delivering the Israelites from Egypt.  However, when their leader Moses had gone up onto the mountain to be in the presence of God, the Israelites fashioned a golden calf to represent God.  They formed God into an image that they could see and an image that  they desired.  Just like us we sometimes shape God into our likeness by making Him convenient and easy to ignore, rather than us being shaped in God's likeness, where we are inconvenienced to expand the kingdom of God.

Have I formed God into an image that is convenient for me?  Have I made God easy to ignore?  If so, I repent for those sins and today I will stop forming God into my own image, rather I am going to be formed into His.

God, I want to be formed into your likeness.  Today, I ask you give me an opportunity to be inconvenienced to spread the gospel of Christ.
