Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
EXODUS 33:7-11 NLT

(Read Exodus 33:11)

I love that Moses continually chose to come near to the Lord and the Lord faithfully met with him. He filled their meeting place with His presence. He spoke to Moses face to face, as you and I would speak to a friend. This is a beautiful example of the relationship that God has for us. We are not alone. God is not far away. We can choose to come to Him with anything and everything and like Joshua we can choose to linger in His presence.

Our days can be full of many distractions and responsibilities but we can choose to set aside time to be in His presence. These are the treasured moments that we can have with our Lord. What in your day is robbing you of your time with God?  Have you been meeting with Him or lingering in His presence? Do you desire to spend more time with Him? If so, what can you adjust or change so that you have more time to be alone with Him? He is a faithful God. He will meet with you when you come.

Lord, here I am. I desire to come and spend time with You. Surround me with Your presence. I want to hear You speak. Help me to see that these are the most precious times we can share. Today is full of many demands, but I ask that you help me to carve out time that I can linger in Your presence because in Your presence is where I long to be.
