That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for He is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Joel 2:12-13 NLT
The Lord is telling us to turn to Him while there is still time. We must turn to Him with our hearts, with fasting with weeping and mourning reflecting on how far we have gone away from Him and how far He has brought us.
This is a time where we can be restored and strengthened, not thinking on things (garments), but thinking on our relationship with GOD and just pouring ourself out and getting free. Repentance is a powerful tool when used correctly.
Father God, we thank You for giving us this time. As we turn our hearts to You, search us reveal what is expected from us for this new year. Teach and equip us show us how to think with a Kingdom mindset. Help us to turn away from what displeases You and turn toward the promises given to us. Thank You for Your grace, mercy and great kindness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
