For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8 ESV
Our salvation is a gift from God. We did nothing to earn it. Our faith and relationship with Jesus is what grants us eternal life; not just living "a good life.” This verse shows how desperately we need God, for we are not capable of saving ourselves. Sometimes we view people as if their sins define who they are and that they are out of reach from God's grace because of their lifestyle. The truth is we all would be hopeless in receiving eternal life if it wasn't for God's grace and the gift He has given us, which is salvation through our faith in Jesus.
Are there people I come across that I view as out of reach from God? Does my pride prevent me from sharing Jesus with others? I will view others as ones that desperately need Jesus, just like me, and share this gift of salvation that can be received by everyone.
Father, help me to see past people's sins in order for me to see them as You see them. Keep revealing more and more how desperately we need You in our lives and increase in us the love for others so that we may be desperate to share the gift of salvation with everyone we meet. Amen.
