Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19 KJV
The disciples’ spirits were high. Even though people were rejecting Jesus, enormous results were occurring on the way to Jerusalem. With the authority of Jesus’ name, the disciples had seen incredible outcomes from their ministering. Jesus assured them that not only would they have victory on earth over the powers of the enemy but their confirmation in Heaven, too.
How am I representing God? Am I thrilled with the privileges that God has allowed me to have, or am I boasting in them for myself? Do I honor Him as I am ministering? Are my abilities, through Jesus Christ, bringing Him Glory or am I being prideful? Jesus direct me! I must begin to always walk in the power of Christ now. I can’t just sit on it and wait. The time is now.
Father God, use me as Your disciple. Give me Your Authority, Lord, over all enemies. Allow me Your eyes, Lord, to see Your Victory! Strengthen me to continuously honor You, Lord, as my most important earthly fulfillment. Guide me, Father, to be thrilled with having Your Authority over darkness, just as Your disciples were. By the Blood of your Glorious Son, AMEN
