For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Psalms 62:5-8 ESV
In God is where we find our refuge. It is only when we place our hope in Him that we can we find the peace and rest that we desire.
This world is a crazy place and it is easy to feel lost and alone. There is so much fear and darkness constantly around us. The unknown causes so much stress or even depression. I see these verses as an invitation to find everything we could ever need, in the only one that matters—our Heavenly Father. It’s a promise of who He wants to be for us. He wants to be our hope, peace, and where we find rest. He wants to be our rock and refuge that CANNOT BE SHAKEN! What He asks for in return is our hearts- and that’s not always easy to give up. But when You do, what He gives in return is EVERYTHING.
God, I thank You for how much You love us. I thank You that You desire us to trust You with every part of our lives. I pray that I would give up my control and place my hope completely in You.
