“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11-12 ESV
We've all had those days. You know, the ones where you feel dead inside. Those days when you'd rather curl up in your bed all day to avoid the world. Those days when you'd rather be alone than surrounded by people. I've been there, more often than I'd like to admit.
But since we are hosts to the very Spirit of God, that dead feeling is nothing more than that: a feeling. Jesus died a death-conquering death so that we may have life. The "zoe" life promised in these verses is not just for life after our physical death. It's for today. And tomorrow. And a year from now. As we put our trust in God, we have access to the life abundant: a life that is real, genuine, and unmistakably marked by the saving blood of Jesus. This zoe life is what the world desperately craves to experience. And it can - through you!
Jesus, thank You for the zoe life that You've given me. Fill me up today, so that my life can overflow and touch each person I come into contact with - that they would experience Your life and love through me. In Your name, Amen.
