Read 1 Corinthians 5:11-21

We are therefore Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV

God has given us a gift. It is a gift that is available to us every second, minute and hour of everyday. As Christ’s ambassadors, His gift to us is to be reconciled to God, which is to be in harmony and peace with Him. It is through God’s love for us that His son, Jesus, died on the cross to make this gift available to us. God made Jesus take on the sin of each and every one of us. He is for us (Romans 8:31) and cleansed our hearts from sin. They are wiped away.

Opening this gift of peace and harmony is a daily event for me. I am human. I screw up. I need God. But what an amazing gift it is to be able to lay at His feet my transgressions. I praise God that His mercies are new every morning and will never come to an end (Lamentations 3:22-23). There is true freedom in being reconciled to God. It is a freedom that contains joy and peace. This freedom is available to everyone. Isn’t it an amazing gift to have true freedom with God? Is this something you’d like for yourself?

Father God, thank You for loving us so much that You died on the cross for our sins. Thank You for allowing us to experience true freedom through Your gift of being reconciled to You. Help us, Father God, to not allow any sin or anger/bitterness to separate us from You and give us the willingness to lay them at the cross. I know You desire a close relationship with each and every one of us. Help us to live in peace and harmony with You just by choosing to be reconciled to You. We ask these things in Your Name, Lord. Amen.
