Read 1 Corinthians 2:6-16

But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11

Observation
When God speaks, everyone may hear the same words but not know the meaning. If you do not have the mind of Christ you may not hear or believe what God is saying. Talking to missionaries shows me how much I miss from God. Pastor Terry Nelson from Haiti has many amazing stories of God’s direction. One time he was driving with his wife and 2 friends (while Haiti was in riots).  They were stopped and were going to be killed. Terry felt God say ‘they want tires to burn’ so Terry told his abductors that he could get them tires. They held the others captive and would kill them if Terry didn’t come back with tires. Terry took off to find tires not having a clue where to go. The Spirit told him to look under a bridge. Terry found tires and brought them back. This is just one of many stories of when the Spirit directed him.

Application
The more we take time to listen the more we will see revealed. I am sure that if you look back you can remember a time or two that you can say “how did I know that?" The Spirit is in each of us and we need to recognize and use what God has hidden from those who are not His and given to us. It might be a good idea to write down some of the things that God’s Spirit has reveled to you through the years.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit. Help me to remember the past and see into the future through Your Spirit and remember that all I need to do is ask.
